The Theme for this year's Fall Forum is:
“Developing practical solutions to reduce industrial disturbance in native grasslands” Incorporating local knowledge of the climate and landscape, with new technology, innovative construction and reclamation techniques to reduce industrial footprint.
Keynote Speaker:
Doug Kulba is a Resource Assurance Specialist with the Regional Integration Branch of Alberta Environment. Doug has spent the past 5 years facilitating a voluntary collaborative process known as Partners In Resource Excellence. Doug facilitates the collaboration of a small group of industry, Government and Community members that has resulted in a number of Innovative Resource Solutions with the objective of improving industry competitiveness, enhancing environmental sustainability and social license across Alberta including the Oil Sands Region.
Schedule:
In the morning Doug Kulba and associates present—Partners In Resource Excellence-Building a Foundation of Trust, Integrity & The Pursuit Of Excellence. Partners in Resource Excellence (PRE) is a voluntary collaborative process that begins when stakeholders recognize regulatory requirements are not meeting society, industry and/or government’s expectations for environmental sustainability or economic competitiveness. The presentation will introduce and explain the Partners In Resource Excellence approach and illustrate three specific examples of how the collaboration between Government, Industry and Communities led to the development of Innovative Pipeline Strategies (IPS), Innovative Road Solutions (IRS) and the Evergreen Centre for Resource Excellence and Innovation.
The afternoon will consist of a landowner profile, updates on current projects and a review of our research questions: are we on the right path or are there additional questions that need to be addressed?
